On Saturday, January 9th the University of Michigan Japan Student Association will be having a mochitsuki festival to celebrate the new year. There will also be demonstrations in ikebana (the art of Japanese flower arrangement), and raion taiko (Japanese drumming). The event is free and open to the public, so feel free to attend and join everyone else in smashing some rice paste!
