Lingua Science has several openings for Japanese language instructor between now and June, in Ann Arbor and Southfield/Warren.

1. Japanese Instructor for Business/Survival (Southfield or Warren) – or negotiable
Japanese instructor needed immediately to tutor a husband/wife who will be moving to Japan in July. Teach Japanese for survival and for working in a Japanese office. Also prepare one of the students to reach JLPT level 4 or higher.

Location: anywhere between Southfield and Warren

Time: at least three weeknights/week, 6-8 PM preferred, or flexible between 6-9 PM

Requirements: Japanese native fluency and prior experience teaching Japanese desired.

2. Japanese Instructor for Immersion Class (Ann Arbor, MI) /hour or negotiable

We have openings for 2 Japanese language instructors for an immersion class to train engineers and businessmen, one-on-one, to live and work in Japan.


*Teach approximately 4 hours/day, one-on-one. AM (approx. 8-noon) and PM (approx. noon-4 PM) shifts available
*Use provided textbooks, workbooks, and CDs to teach your student.
*Bring in extra materials as needed to teach practical Japanese that matches your textbook chapter – such as using a train schedule, or restaurant menu, or other items.
*Discuss Japanese culture when appropriate to the lesson and when answering the student’s questions.
*Help prepare the student for the JLPT test (materials provided).
*Provide a written progress report at end of each week.

*Japanese native fluency preferred
*Prior experience teaching Japanese
*College degree

Immersion classes will start in April. We are looking for instructors available for several weeks.

The busiest time will be late April, May, and early June. MUST be available during May.
Teachers available from March to June would be great, but all candidates are very welcome to apply!

We have openings for approximately six to eight weeks of week-long sessions.
